What do the Friends do for the Library?
The Friends are a group of individuals, families and businesses joined together to offer enthusiastic support for our vibrant library in its mission to become a lifelong learning center for all generations in our community.
The inspiring bi-monthly Art exhibitions on display in the library’s gallery are organized by the Friends. Recently, the Friends instituted Wind Down Fridays and while these have so far focused mainly on fine art events, there is room for expansion into many different fields.
If you’d like to see an event covered by Wind Down Friday – comedy hour, musical jam session, other? Submit your suggestion by emailing the Friends – friends@cnsfl.org.
The Friends raise money primarily through book sales, jewelry & accessory sales, membership drives and so much more. With these funds the Friends sponsor programs for children, teens and tweens, and adults offering tutoring, bi-lingual courses, museum passes and staff recognition.
Have you enjoyed the newly refurbished lobby in the library? How about the new meeting space; The Classroom? The Friends are proud to have been able to provide this for the library and our community.
